On Sunday 23/10/2022, the Public Health department in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine / University of Kufa held a workshop entitled ((Production of local premixes in poultry diets)), in which Prof. Dr. Ali Mahmoud Al-Kassar had been lectured in the workshop that aimed to explain the possibility of producing and manufacturing the premixes inside Iraq and dispensing with the expensive and inaccurate production for imports.
At the end of the workshop, a set of recommendations were submitted to the relevant authorities represented by the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture
1. Establishing some Iraqi quality specifications of for poultry feed in general, in addition to premixes and plant protein concentrates in particular, in cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Higher Education in accordance with a law enacted by the Iraqi Council of Representatives
2. Establishment of chemical analysis laboratories with international specifications for units of standardization and quality control at border ports that operate under strict controls that are linked to the Iraqi Council of Ministers due to their importance to community safety and food security for Iraqis.
3. Supporting the Federation and Associations of Feed Producers and the Poultry Industry to be established according to a law that adopts directions to reach self-sufficiency in raw materials for feed in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture. Iraq, except for the Kurdistan region
4. Activate and support poultry science associations, as they possess highly qualified specialists and involve them in decisions related to the poultry feed industry in general, with openness to poultry companies and owners of major projects in Iraq and providing effective solutions to the problems they suffer from
