The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kufa held a workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in scientific research on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Public Health Branch.

The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Abdullah Obese Al-Hatami, who covered a range of important concepts and topics related to AI and its practical applications in scientific research and academic publishing.

The workshop included several key points, such as a comprehensive introduction to AI and its modern technologies, a detailed explanation of the large language model ChatGPT and how it works and generates text, and an overview of the most important practical applications of ChatGPT in various fields, especially in scientific research. Dr. Al-Hatemi also highlighted the importance of using AI to support academic researchers and facilitate the research process by providing smart tools and systems to collect and analyze data, generate new ideas, and write scientific papers and academic articles more effectively and efficiently. He emphasized the importance of researchers understanding the basic concepts of scientific research, academic writing methods, and how to leverage AI technologies to support this process, while also stressing the importance of human oversight to ensure the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated information.

The workshop received significant interaction from the attendees, including faculty members, researchers, and students, who showed great interest in the topics presented and asked many questions about how to benefit from these technologies in their research and studies.
