The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kufa holds an awareness seminar on electronic blackmail

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kufa held an awareness seminar on electronic blackmail under the supervision of Dean, Professor Dr. Karrar Mohammed Abdulsada Al-Hares. Organized by the units of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, Women’s Empowerment, and Student Activities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the National Security Agency, the seminar was titled “Electronic Blackmail: Causes, Factors, and Solutions.”

The seminar featured presentations by Major Ali Mohammed Majeed from the Training and Development Department of the Iraqi National Security Agency, Colonel Zaid Wajih Marza from the Najaf Al-Ashraf Security Directorate, and Lieutenant Colonel Hasanein Saleh Mahdi Al-Saebri, Director of Security for Najaf Al-Ashraf Universities.

The seminar aimed to introduce the concepts of electronic blackmail and the risks associated with the increased use of the internet. It also covered methods for combating it through cybersecurity and electronic protection, highlighting the role of community police in eliminating various forms of electronic blackmail. Examples and models of different types of blackmail and ways to communicate with the community police department to report cases were presented. The seminar targeted students from all levels to guide and raise their awareness on the optimal use of the internet to protect their information from hacking and electronic blackmail.
