The veterinary microbiology branch holds a seminar on brucellosis

As part of the series of activities of the Veterinary Microbiology Branch and according to the scientific plan prepared by the branch, a seminar titled “Brucellosis: A New Insight” was held on Monday, November 4, 2024, The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hai Abbas, and it covered important topics including the definition of brucellosis, the types of bacteria that cause the disease in various animals and humans, the modes of transmission, and the individuals most at risk.

Dr. Abbas also focused on the emergence of new, unconventional types of brucellosis that pose a significant threat to humans and are transmitted by animals not previously known to carry the bacteria. These new types are also characterized by their difficulty in being diagnosed using traditional methods.
