The Department of Public Health held a workshop entitled ((Bioethics and Research on Animals)) on Monday, 11/15/2021.
Prof. Dr. Abdullah Obaeis Alhatami reviewed a number of considerations regarding the use of animals in research. He also showed the most important criteria that the ethical interactions between humans and animals must meet during the research study. The workshop discussed the rules and regulations that followed to use of animals at the University of Kufa and how to apply them, through the researchers obtaining the approval of the Institutional Committee for the Care and Use of Animals before starting any research project using vertebrate animals, and before making any modification, in any way, to any approved research project. Furthermore, the dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ahmed Al-Azzam, mentioned the efforts of faculty that made in this field, and the necessity of spreading a culture of work with ethical principles within the scientific research.
